I was out playing\ngolf with Mel Larrd this afternoon, Your old friend.\nHAK: Well, I like Mel. Ken, I have had a very violent response from the\nChinese about this\nadjournment of UNCURK. They say that we\npretty much promised them to abolish UNCURK, if they play ball. Now can\nyou take a look into the possibility of that and let me know by Monday.\nRush:\nYes, I will, Henry. We discussed that you know.\nHAK: Well, as I remember, you said you preferred they the adjournment.\nRush: At least the last time we discussed it, and I gave you a paper on it,\nwe were wondering whether or not we could do away with UNCURK. And\nwhat has happened since? I didn't know anything had happened.\nHAK: Well, personally, I have only personally told the Chinese what we\nare thinking of and asked for their comments. And they didn't comment\nabout dropping the issue. They did comment though about the adjournment,\nXXXX saying the only they'd consider is the abolishing.\nRush: I see. Well, the adjournment was all we really words were discussing.\nHAK: Well, could you take a look at it. I don't need it before Monday evening.\nRush: I'11 be in touch with you Monday.\nBut do they think\nwe should abolish UNCURK entirely?\nHAK: That's right.\nRush: We hoped to get something for that, as you remember.\nHAK: To drop the Korea item from the agenda.\nRush: Right. Well, let me look into it.\nHAK: You see what I mean.\nRush: Yes, I do. I really haven't looked at it since you and tax I talked\nthe last time. And nothing has happened since then, has it?"
