Soviet NSSMs their problem. In fact there was a
-there is now a real possibility that Brezhnev will postpone his visit.
Nothing definite at all?
K:
No, no.
E:
He may come, butif this thing continues along this path, there's a real
chance he won't come in June.
K:
Well I wouldn't put it that way. That may be a little exaggerated.
E:
It's getting more serious isn't it.
K:
Well you know it's tough when the Soviets in effect repeal their tax and
then if Jackson were to take the position that this doesn't make any
difference, now he's going to go for the iron curtain. You got yourself
a problem.
E:

real problem?
K:

E:

Is there a tactic that could be employed that woudl work? Or a strategy.
K:
No, no, we are seeing the Jewish leaders today. We are definitely
pushing it.
E:
The Senators say it's out of their hands, Henry. I've talked to them
all, I know their line.
K:
Well, we'll see.
E:
All right. Well, listen, you come tonight.
K:
No.
E:
That's too bad. Will you be back later in the May, or--
K:
Yeah, I'll be back later in May.
E:
Well, we'll put it together. We'll have another one for you in late May.
How about that. Because I really want to get you over.
