Hi, Henry, Jerry Ford.
K:
How are you Jerry.
F:
I'm fine, how are you.
K:
Okay.
F:
I'm calling on a somewhat unusual matter but I suspect you have an
interest in it and may have some influence, and if I might I d like ;to
speak up on behalf of General J. C. Myer of SAC as the next head
of the Air Force.
K:
Jerry, Elliot made a recommendation on somebody else actually,
but I'm going to hold it until we have a new Secretary.
F:
Okay. I've known J. C. Myer$ for 24 years, I know his career, I
know him personally, and there are darn few military men that i've
know what has as broad a view and as much practical, operational,
past experience as he.
K:
Good.
F:
And I just want to get a good plug in for a guy that I think deserves
the3 job.
K:
I appreciate that very much.
F:
Is there anything I can do down there to help the situation otherwise.
K:
Just give us your continued staunch support.
F:
Well we've been working on this matter involving that appropriation.
I think we are going to get it through the committee all right. We
will have a tough time on the floor Im afraid.
K:
Well, it would be terribly helpful.
F:
Well we are working on it.
K:
