Page 2 HK: I had a talk with Fulbright this morning--I was trying to get him to spring Graham Martin so that we can get him out there. And he was insolent. I have never seen Fulbright this way. I mean he was really mean. He said he wouldn't stop now until we are out of Southeast Asia. He won't approve Graham Martin, Bill Sullivan or Godley and he'll hang them up in his committee for as long as-- RN: Until we are out of Southeast Asia. HK: Yeh. RN: Well that's the line he's going to take Henry. HK: Well we'll have to try to work on this committee against him. RN: Sure, but don't let it discourage you, Henry. That's just his mood. HK: No, no, I just wanted to ah, but basically on this summit thing, I talked to Haig, I don't know whether XXN he had a chance to get to you. RN: He's just going to be in in about five or ten minutes. HK: There was one question that perhaps you can let me take up with you then. RN: Sure. HK: The Soviets seem to be very eager that Brezhnev stay with you in your compound in San Clemente, only he --is there a chance of giving him Julie's house for two nights ? RN: Of course there is. Absolutely. We can work anything out that way. HK: Well if I could tellthem that today; RN: Absolutely, we'll fixecit up. HK: I think that would help alot. That would please them enormously. RN Yeh, yeh. Look that is fine, Sure I'll--we'll work out the accommoda- tions. HK: Good and that his will be inside the compound with you. RN: Oh of course, of course. HK: The others--Gromyko and company can be outside. R
