TELCON Ambassador Zabedi/Kissinger July 31, 1973 - 5:11 p. m. H: Hello Z: Hello. Good afternoon again. How lucky I am to talk to you twice a day. I'm terribly sorry to bother you. I had a call from Mr. John Militon who is the "Time" Magazine reporter. He told me that he had some news about that first Brazil , Iran. That replacing the Canada. And I said well I don't know anything about it yet. If I find out anything then he was going to call me again here. I asked him have you where heard this and he said a very confidential place and apparently the State Department will also announce it. and since they are going to have for the time on next week he would like to have some information. Well, I didn't want to tell him anything before checking with you. K: The North Vietnamese we haven't heard from yet. Z: No. K: Why don't you tell him you'll call him towards the end of the week Z: I think this is the best. Because we have to hear from the other side too. So, then would you please let me know and in case you are too busy I could have Mr. Saunders could call and if I'm not in the office then we will see what will happen until . K: Right. Z: Thank you very much.
