S: Hello Henry.
K: Hi, John.
S: I am meeting with the President in his office and with Malik and Al Zayyat.
And Malik is threatening to invoke the resolution on his own.
K: I have just talked with Vorontsov who is in touch with Moscow. You tell
Malik to stop his god damn pressure tactics and give us the time to do it.
S: I will tell him that. He says. (rapid talking)
K: Will you stop a minute. . stop. . stop. . Stop your speech and I will tell
you what we are for. We are for observers. We are for the cease-fire.
The Soviet is contrary. because it goes back to the line when the
cease-fire was passed. What we would most like is a cease-fire with immediate
establishment of observers. Afterwards we will support any condemnation
of a crossing of that line.
S: I will tell Malik.
K: You tell him. Will you call me back?
S: I will call you back.
