K; Have you seen the Egyptian proposal?
S: Is it the 10 point one?
K; Yes, that's it. Are you doing an analysis.
S: Yes, we are pulling together a complete analysis in addition
to giving you negotiating ideas.
K: I have got to be able to negotiate this thing SO I've got to be
able to read it.
S: We've got it just about done. It's being done in parts to kind
of speed things up.

K: Canyou come up with alternatives.
S:

disengagement phase, period of stabilization of cease fire.
K: We've got that SO screwed up at this point even I don't understand
it.
S: Exactly, that's what we're working on, to see if we can come
up with alternatives.
K: My intention in this phase if to sound positive but obfuscate
enough SO they can't pin me down,
S: We can think in these terms. One thing wrong with it, we need
some kind of negotiation, something for the Israelis.
K: Need to get East Bank and West bank armies exchanged.
S: Right, that could be part of this step.
K: Well, I'm not going to worry about this at this point. Maybe
they could keep second Army, and withdraw the Third Army.
S: I'llhave something for you early afternoon.
K: Your view, do they expect me to leave Egypt with a final
settlement.
