D: I want to ask you about the upcoming Church subcommittee
on oil. They want to make public all of Jim Akins' testimony.
There's a lot of stuff in that testimony that would do us some
damage if released at this time.
K :
Like what?
D: A lot of nasty remarks about different monarchs. A lot
of hearsay stuff about deals with oil companies.
K : What do you suggest?
D: I suggest we get Stan Anderson up there tomorrow and have
him edit out some stuff. They're willing to listen to him.
To ask them to put Jack Erwin's testimony off the record,
which would be damaging to the oil embargo. There's a lot of
personal opinion in there by Akins, represented as Government
opinion. I wouldn't care so much of that.
K : I agree with you, it should be done. It's good of you to
ask and I agree.
D: Good.
