key leaders of the Jewish community-- I didn't include every last
member of them

Right, that is what I wanted to pin down--I've -- got nothing else

What are you going to do on the European thing if anything comes up

I would take exactly sir the line that had gone out in the telegram which
we sent out yesterday- - Ed Hartman and I had spoken of this yesterday-
just a simple--rehearses - - the background and says we are now carefully
studying the text and a meeting date will be fixed upon completion on
the study

And you better make clear we received it officially only on Wednesday

Yes, that is the preceding part, sir - - received it on Monday originally
but then explanations on Tuesday March 5--which reached us on Wednesday
and this is too serious a matter to be handled that quickly.
K:
Don't say it is too serious - just say we won't be ready and if you have
and opportunity--Reston has been briefed--that horses' ass --by French (?)
we have never asked to be present at the ForMin's meeting- that was not
an issue at all if it comes up--don't volunteer it
