I hope the reports I read our correct that you're\ngoing to take the Chairmanship.\nS: I look forward to it.\nK: I look forward to working very closely with you.\nS: The same here and I want to commend you on the tremendous job you did\nover there. Are you rested? I don't see how you can be.\nK: I m getting there.\nS: I apologize for calling you about this but a bunch of people who operate in\nmy state asked me to do it. I understand that they have asked for an appointment\nwith you. I don't know whether it's any special time or not. They're a bunch\nof aluminum XXXXX companies. There's a man named John Harper, representing\nAlcoa; Richard Reynolds, representing Reynolds metal company, Cornell\nFeyer, representing Kaiser Aluminum Company, John Place, representing\nAnaconda Copper Company and then two companies which I don't have the\nnames of the representati ves is Alcan, I think that's a Canadian Aluminum\nCompany and then the Revere, I think is a copper company. All of these\noperate in my state, I believe, but anyhow they asked me to call and just recomme\nthat they be given an appointment with you for which I under stnfdd they applied.\nI know nothing about, I won't make it clear, I know nothing about what they\nwant, but I presume it has to do with trade.\nK: I would suspect maybe bauxite.\nS: Oh, maybe.\nK: That's what I w ould suspect.\nS: That's probably what it is. And as I say, I know nothing about, they XX\ndidn't tell me, but they did tell me that they had asked for a chance to sit down\nand talk with you and he asked me if I would put in a word for them and that's\nall I'm doing.\nK: OK. I appreciatestxthis and I will do my very best to see them."
