E: I just got back last night and I have been reading this nonsense. I
have to see you.
K: What nonsense ?
E: I need to see you before you go to San Clemente. Can you give me
25 minutes.
K: I will only be their 48 hours.
E: I am going on vacation for a week.
K: What nonsense have you been reading.
E: A column by Braden.
K: He is a darling man but
E: Nothing in that at all.
K: His perceptions are not as sharp as his wife's.
E: You are not kidding me.
K: I am not. I never heard of a quarrel with Simon. No quarrel.
The Energy Conference was a success -- not a failure.
E: How about Nixon?
K: We achieved what we wanted and now the French are trying to join.
Nixon is always a complex thing but nothing there. You and I chatted
about that.
E: About the way it has always been. You are not going to quit or
getting fired.
K: Getting fired is an absurdity.
E: Yes, sir.
K: Seriously.
E: I have many messages from Mr. Rabin. Many messages. Private.
