E: Stennis finally returned my call and I explained your thought and he said
he would send me a list of names tomorrow. But then he went on to say, yox
you had done so well the other day at the leadership meeting, he'd like you to
come up before the entire committee. I said that I'd pass that on to you.
K: What do you think?
E: I think it would be a great idea, you'd run into a problem with the House, you
know if we're going
K: No, that's alright. Well, tell him yes.
E:
OK. The only xixixikx thing I'm thinking is we've got to worry about Doc
Morgan.
K: Let's put him on in the next two or three weeks.
E: Now that one other
he said he was really concerned about hxx these
reports about you and Schlesinger and off record for your information, he
had thought about asking you and Schlesinger up there at the same time.
K: No.
E: I know. I didn't say anything. I will call him back inthe morning and say
that's really fine, but you'd rather just keep it to a briefing on the trip and think
it WO uld be better if you appeared alone.
K: Right. And just tell him I don't consider myself in confrontation with
Schlesinger.
E: I XXX already told him. He said, what did I think and I said, look I can
tell him personally in my knowledge that no conflict between Schlesinger
(inaudible). OK. I ''ll call him back.
K: Good.
E: And get it set up.
K: Right.
