Two things. We've just been informed by the Israelis firing has been
stopped on the East bank. On the West bank there wasn't much going
on anyway. We are sending 10 of our people from Tel Aviv to observe
it for about 48 hours until the U.N. observers are there
D:
48 hours.

Yes. We are willing to keep them longer if anyone asks you.

I understand.
K:
Secondly, we've just been informed, which I can hardly believe that
Brezhnev is leaving for Cuba at the end of this week.
D:
To Cuba?
K:
Yes.
D:
This I heard for the first time. This I am hearing for the first time.
I know that he had an invitation to go by the end of this year.
K:
Our understanding was that he would leave in December.
D:
This I know. And I'm sure when I was in Moscow if it was he were
going ]I would have been told so I am presuming, of course I didn't
discuss this directly with him so I am make a small reservation in
terms of unbelieveable to me but 99.9 percent it is completely untrue.
K:
OK.
D:
I'm rather prepared to say 100 % untrue because otherwise when I was
in Moscow I was there a good 20 hours maybe
K:
You can't keep him from going to Cuba but you can imagine
D:
I am not going to mention it to him because I am sure, even when I
was in Moscow he mentioned to me because he usually tells what his
major plan his, where he goes. He is going to India.
