5642 THE SECRETARY OF STATE WASHINGTON 19486 December 16, 1969 Dear Mr. President: The Department has received a request from the Spanish Embassy inquiring whether our Government agrees to the appointment of Mr. Jaime Arguelles y Armada as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Spain to the United States. A biography of Mr. Arguelles is enclosed. A thorough review of all United States Government material reveals no grounds for objection. I believe this appointment would be satisfactory. If you concur, I shall be pleased to inform the Spanish Government of your approval. Respectfully, William P. Rogers Enclosure: Biography. The President, The White House.
