MEMORANDUM FOR MR. EAGLEBURGER
FROM:
Don Lesh
SUBJECT: Memorandum of HAK Conversation with Aguirre
Here is my draft memcon of the interview last Friday afternoon
between Mr. Kissinger and Aguirre de Carcer. I presume that
HAK will want to edit it and decide:
-- whether it should be sent in final form to the President;
-- whether copies should be sent to State and Defense;
-- what action he wishes to take on the basis of the con-
versation.
As I mentioned in the memorandum we sent across on the Spanish
bases on Friday, Aguirre will be meeting again with Alex Johnson
at State late this afternoon, and will leave for Madrid on Tuesday,
May 20.
