Dear Rose: Enclosed is the annual request from the Bel-Air Country Club for a contribution to their employees' Christ- mas Fund. My inclination is to send the approved amount. Please advise as to the way this should be handled. Best regards, Hur Herbert W. Kalmbach HWK/ah Enclosures CHRISTMAS 1971 Dear Member: In past years, Bel-Air Country Club members have made voluntary contributions to a CHRISTMAS FUND for our employees. Jur fine staff has served us loyally throughout the year and helped tremendously to make it possible for us to enjoy our Club facilities. Since tipping our employees is not permitted and through- out the year no percentage is added for service- as is customary in other Clubs in this area Christmastime is our only opportunity to demonstrate our appreciation and to make Christmas a bit happier for them and their families. Last year's average contribution amounted to $40.00 per member and the total amount received was donated in its entirety to employees. We are therefore asking for voluntary contributions of $40.00 from each member and, unless we hear from you to the contrary, this amount will appear on your October statement. Many members are privileged to use the Club a great deal more frequently than others, and by the same token, vol- untarily increase the sum. Any additional contribution would most certainly be acceptable and appreciated. October 26, 1971 from Loie Gaunt Re Ed Hoyt He would like some material on the Yorba Linda years -- Loie feels the only thing we have are the two books she sent Also wants material on suxhxexxxxxxx school years -- elementary through Duke University Also Navy years His book is only going up to 1946 Inside the box Loie sent over is a complete inventory of what is in there Also a comparison of RN Navy experience -- she thought this might be helpful to Ed Hoyt Loie thinks he should come here and look over whatever material you decide to show him and then determine what you mikexlexxx might let him have copies of to borrow maye 301/268-6533 268-6533 Octob er 19, 1971 Ed Hoyt 83 market St. annapolis, In the middle of RN early historical period -- what I would like to do, if possible -- wonder if copies can be made of the material so that I can borrow them and use them at my home rather than coming in to Washington. If I am going to use the material I need it within the next month. October 22, 1971 Ed Hoyt called again -- told him this had been such a busy week and RMW just did not have anything for him yet -- we were going to do the best we could but didn't yet know if there would be any material which he could use. helve Linda probable School years chementhry englished college 213/680-0600 name pight upto46 Ed Hoyt -- wants to know about the family - not publiclife also wants photographs that have never been used Loie Gaunt Ancestors -- Dr. Bell's files Mother's and father-s files - many of his mother's letters are there -- not really personal - talks about the neighbors -- would have to go through them could pull out maybe 25 samples Navy file - looks like most of the letters he got when he was overseas are there -- letters from his mother, aunts, etc. -- there are PN letters but they, of course, would not be given to him Photographs -- there are quite a few in some of the files that people have sent in Could we offer him the condolence letters that were received after both his father and mother died Copies of RN essays -- and in grammar school and college Also found RMW's interview files -- will send over to the office If RMW agrees LGG could spend a couple of days and pull out examples of things in these files and then see if RMW wants to get approval of the President or whatever to see if we could give these to Mr. Hoyt LGG will be back in Washington on September 26 Hoyt's publication date is August 1972
