Dear Guido and Mariuccia:
What a pleasant and beautiful surprise it was to
find the handsome African gold elephant which you
sent to me on my desk when I returned from Camp
David earlier this afternoon. It is magnificent
and I intend to put it on the desk in my bedroom
where it will be a constant reminder of the dedi-
cated, loyal friendship and support both of you
have given me through the years.
I hope it will not be too long before we will have
the pleasure of thanking you personally. In the
meantime, Pat joins me in expressing our appre-
ciation and warmest personal regards.
Sincerely,
