Dear Monty Moncrief:
Believe me, my not writing after your call of April 5
suggesting a plan for getting together the money to
pay the taxes which the IRS now claims the President
owes is not because your suggestion was not deeply
appreciated.
However, the President feels that he must personally
borrow this money, and I do not know whether the plan
is to refinance his homes or just what method will be
used. You may be sure he is most grateful for your
thoughtful suggestion and for your continuing friend-
ship, and I know he would want me to extend his
thanks and best wishes to you,
Sincerely,
Rose Mary Woods

P.S. Of course, my own good wishes accompany
his.

Dear Monty:
It was very good to hear from
you once again. Since we get a considerable
volume of mail both at home and in the
office to be sure that your letter is brought
directly to my attention, I would suggest that
you send it to me at the above address
marked: Attention Rose Mary Woods.
It has been a long time since we
have had a chance to visit. I hope if your
travels should bring you to New York you will
let me know so that we can arrange a mutually
convenient time to get together.
I want you to know how much I have
appreciated your loyal and generous support
through the years.
With best personal regards,
Sincerely,
Rich
