Nixon 450 Park Avenue New York, N.Y. 10022 (212) 661-6400 1/7/69 Special Assistant Bob Haldeman Memo: Attached are some materials -- resume, commendations and samples of campaig work -- from Dick McCormack of our cam- paign S aff, which, a. his request, I'm forwarding to you. He has also given copies to Henry Kissi ger. He was on our research staff, with special emphasis on Viet Nam. He's -very eager to be part of the operation in Washi igton, but apparently had some difficulties with Dick Allen during the campaign which he's afraid may be standing in the way. I haven't probed into them. In my dealings with him X I found him extremely bright and also very sensible. He's also a self-starter (example: after the EE elec- tion, on his own hook, he spent a month living with a black family in a Washington slum, visiting the schools and talking with teachers and kids, in order to check out some ideas he had on improving education.) R/ PEACE CORPS WASHINGTON 8 OFFICE OF February 13, 1967 THE DIRECTOR Dear Dick, Joe has told me about your excellent work in Michigan.
