Dear Don:
Thanks for your letter of June 11th.
I was very much interested in your suggestions regarding
inroads to be made in the Democratic areas of Alameda
County, and agree that your approach would be much more
effective than any attempt to hold large public
meetings. I will see if we can't work out something
along the lines you have suggested.
I also agree that something must be done to resolve the
Sacramento problem, but am sure you would concur in
my feeling that this should follow the special session,
date
not preceed it. We have to explore this whole area
more thoroughly, and any recommendations you have prior
to our moving in will be eagerly received.
Best regards.

Dear John:
This will follow-up our earlier conversation re-
garding the San Diego Research Library files and
their pending suit for recovery of same.
It is my understanding that you have contacted several
interested parties who would be willing to underwrite
the financial obligations involved in continuing this
suit. I think that these parties or their repre-
K
sentatives should be put directly in touch with
Earl Roberts in San Diego. You can reach him at
Belmont 4-1494.

Earl feels that contributions made directly to the

San Diego Research Library, Inc. would qualify as tax
deductible. I have told him that financial support
would be forthcoming from Los Angeles.
Best regards.
Sincerely,
H. R. Haldeman

Dear Walter:
I very much appreciated your sending on the letters from
Mr. Russel of Thermal. He is obviously a sound thinker and
I am most happy to bring the letters to Dick's attention.
I know he will find them very helpful.
I do have a copy of your letter to Dick and we will definitely X X
try to set up the meeting you suggest in Orange County.
I will have to be in touch with you next week regarding this
since, as you know, Dick has been on vacation this week.
s
Look forward to seeing you soon, and best regards.

Thanks for your letter of June 14th.
The report on the situation regarding

experience in the matter.
I am sending your letter and the

I was especially pleased to get your reactions to the

wisdom of this approach - at least in the early stages.
The viewer reaction has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic,
and all of our headquarters have been getting calls from

as well as some calls from Brown people who have reported
likewise.

We have no accurate reading as to total audience and won't

Dear Jean:
I greatly appreciated your
comments on the Telethon, and am sure
you will be glad to know the reaction
has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic.
Keep up the good work in your
project to educate the opposition. It is
going to be even more important from
June 5th on than it has been up to now.
If you need any bolstering for the courage
of your convictions, let us know.
Take on Joy as a personal project.
If you can win that one over, you can do
almost anything.
Thanks again for your thoughtful
note.
