Friday, November 16, 2007 Page 1 of 1 THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON Date July 11 Bob Haldeman For From Tod Hullin John asked that I forward the attached to you and suggested that you get your million dollars ready. Tod THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON July 7, 1972 MEMORANDUM FOR: JOHN EHRLICHMAN FROM: KEN COLE I thought you would appreciate having Elmer Bobst's thoughts with regard to the foundation. He passed them along to Jim Cavanaugh in a telephone call the other day. CC: Jim Cavanaugh THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON July 6, 1972 MEMORANDUM FOR: KEN COLE FROM: JIM CAVANAUGHA Elmer Bobst is back in the country using the telephone. He has some concerns about the Foundation and wanted the follow- ing thoughts passed on to the "right person": 1. The Foundation Board needs more "men of means" who can afford to give a million dollars each. (He says the brothers and Bob Finch can't.) 2. The location of the library should not be "off the beaten track" at the President's college. 3. It should be within 30 to 40 miles of San Clemente. 4. A budget of $30 - 35 million dollars should be planned. 5. The library should be placed on 40 to 50 acres of property and have an auditorium, museum, eating and parking facilities adjacent to it. 6. Mr. Bobst thought a location next to USC might be the right spot or perhaps something closer to San Clemente. O.K.?
