MEMORANDUM FOR:
KEN COLE
FROM:
JIM CAVANAUGHA
Elmer Bobst is back in the country using the telephone. He
has some concerns about the Foundation and wanted the follow-
ing thoughts passed on to the "right person":
1. The Foundation Board needs more "men of means"
who can afford to give a million dollars each.
(He says the brothers and Bob Finch can't.)
2. The location of the library should not be "off the
beaten track" at the President's college.
3. It should be within 30 to 40 miles of San Clemente.
4. A budget of $30 - 35 million dollars should be
planned.
5. The library should be placed on 40 to 50 acres of
property and have an auditorium, museum, eating and
parking facilities adjacent to it.
6. Mr. Bobst thought a location next to USC might be
the right spot or perhaps something closer to San
Clemente.
O.K.?
