RE: BUFFALO, N.Y. VISIT ON OCTOBER 17
Following is background re comittment for RN step-by at Polish Union
Hall during trip to Buffalo:
This stop was set up and virtually confirmed by the local group some time
prior to our Advance Man's arrival in Buffale.
The local people are acting upon a comittment made by the Vice President
during his last visit to Buffalo earlier this year.
I was riding in the Vice President's car at the time he told Senator John
Cooke, Erie County Chairman that he definitely wanted to have Cooke set
up a meeting with the Polish group at the time of his next visit to Buffalo.
At present the status is that the stop is confirmed for a 20-minute period
for remarks by the Vice President at the Polish Union Hall.
I recommend that we not make any change in the existing plan.
