Mrs. Frank Stuller 3107 West Layton Avenue Milwaukee 21, Wisconsin Dear Mrs. Stuller: Just a note to thank you very much for your thoughtfulness in sending on to me the picture you took when we were in Wisconsin a few weeks ago with Vice President Nixon. I very much appreciate your remembering to send the picture and will add it to my collection. Thank you very much and best wishes. Sincerely, H. R. Haldeman HRH:efe No DONALD M. COUNIHAN 1000 CONNECTICUT AVENUE WASHINGTON, D. C. January 28, 1960 Mr. Robert Finch Administrative Assistant to the Vice-President United States Capitol Washington, D. C. Dear Bob: Far be it from me to interject myself in the personal politics in any part of the country, but I am attempting to watch the Wisconsin scene very closely for you. As you know I am from that part of the country, and have kicked around the state of Wisconsin considerably having formally been with a Republican member of Congress from Milwaukee, a close friend of Dick's, namely, Charles J. Kersten. I received a telephone call this morning from a man who is close to Milwaukee politics who had heard from a prominent woman Republican in Milwaukee that on the coming visit of the Vice-President on February 8, that there had been no functions scheduled for the women. I indicated to him that that was a local problem and should be worked out at the local level with the people there who are controlling Dick's time after he arrives in Milwaukee. This particular woman indicates that she could put together a crowd of anywhere between one and 2000 women if some- time during the day of the 8th of February a brief time could be arranged. No acknowledgement of this is necessary to me, but if any of your advance men want to make an inquiry of the local Mil- waukee people as to whether or not the women have been wrapped into the program, this might be the way to handle it, if you find it advisable to so do. Best personal regards. Sincerely yours, on Donald M. Counihan DMC:hap
