IT WAS NICE TO SEE AND VISIT WITH YOU FOR A MOMENT OR TWO IN CHICAGO, I AM SURE
YOU HAVE BEEN PLENTY BUSY SINCE THINE, AS HAVE WE.
I HAVE BEEN WORKING MAINLY ON FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES, THIS WEEK WE WILL PASS
THE 60 MARK, AND HAVE 23 MORE SCHEDULED, WE CALL THEM REPUBLICAN APPRECIATION-
FUND RAISING DINNERS, THEY HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL, HAVE BEEN, $5.00, $10.00,
$50.00, AND WILL END UP SEPT 29, with $100.00 PER PLATE VICTORY IN 60 DINNER IN
OMAHA.
HAVE BEEN WORKING ALMOST NIGHT AND DAY, LAST WEEK FROM FRIDAY TO FRIDAY I PUT IN
122 HOURS, THAT IS ALMOST FULL TIME, THE LITTLE PAPER CLIPPING ENCLOSED WAS IN
OUR LOCAL PAPER.
I PLAN ON BEING IN OMAHA SEPT 16 FOR THE BIG BREAKFAST, MIGHT SEE YOU THEN. WE
THINK THAT ALL THE WORK THAT HAS BEEN DONE HERE IN NEBRASKA WILL PAY OFF FOR THE
GOP.
THIS WEEK IS STATE FAIR WEEK, THE OPENING DAY WE SERVED 5000 CUPS FREE ICE WATER,
AFTER THE PEOPLE ACCEPTED NIXON MATCHES, PINS, AND OTHER LI TERATURE, YES TERDAY OVER
10,000 PASSED THROUGH OUR BOOTH, TODAY IS LABOR DAY AND THERE WILL STILL BE MORE,
WE HAVE A "HOSPITALITY CENTER", CHAIRS, LOUNGES ETC, ALSO FREE MOVIES GOING ALL
THE TIME, THE "NIXON IN RUSSIA" FILM IS THE MOST POPULAR. REQUESTS COME IN DAILY
FOR LITERATURE AND PINS, WE TRY AND KEEP EVERYONE HAPPY, OUR COUNTY FAIRS ARE NOW
OVER AND MOST OF THE COUNTIES IN OUR STATE, HAD GOP FLOATS AND XII BOOTHS.
I AM ENCLOSING A VOLUNTEER CARD OF MRS. SCHUETZ, YOU CAN SEE THAT IT WORKED FOR
YOU TO HAVE VOLUNTEERS SIGN UP AT THE NATIONAL CONVENTION.
