Haldeman to Harold Howe about laundry during the campaign. 2 pgs. Monday, June 25, 2007 Page 1 of 1 Callo September 10, 1960 Mr. Harold Howe American Institute of Laundering Mills Building Washington, D. C. Dear Mr. Howe: We have received a number of telegrams from Mr. Richard Simpson of the American Institute of Laundering in Joliet, Illinds as well as the call from you offering the services of your organisation to handle laundry for our campaign group. I have delayed replying to your kind offers until I was able to have a clearer picture of what our needs might be in this regard. First, let me thank you very much for the offer of assistance which of course, is greatly appreciated and please accept my apologies for the delay in extending these thanks. It now appears that most of our campaign trips will be of one week duration with returns to Washington at the end of the week. This will mean that we should not have any serious laundry problems most of the time. I will, however, keep your suggestion in mind and it may very well be that if and when plans change, we will want to ask your help in getting laundry done fast. In the meantime I would appreciate a note from you regarding your suggestions for fast laundry service over Sundays and weekends in Washington, D. C. which might be of tremendous value to the party since most of them will be returning to Washington between trips and will only be here for a day or two at the most. Mr. Harold Howe - 2 - September 10, 1960 Again, thank you very much for your offer of assistance, and my apol- ogies for the delay in replying. Will you please also convey this message to Mr. Richard Simpson in Joliet. Sincerely, H. R. Haldeman HRH:efo
