The attached check was addressed to
the Nixon campaign, but you will note it is payable to
Republican Assembly.
Is there some way this can be endorsed over
to us? If not, will you please handle this direct with
Mr. Irwin S. Schuman, Palm Springs Riviera Hotel (card
attached), since he definitely intended it to be a contribution
to the Nixon for Governor campaign, as you will note.

Attached hereto is check for $50.00, payable to
Tom Duggan, and endorsed by him for the Nixon-for-Governor
campaign, received from Miss Dorothy A. Simonick of the
Long Beach Council of Republican Women.
October 20, 1962
Dear Dorothy Simonick,
Thank you so much for your token check.
Tom has endorsed it and I am returning it
to be used for Mr. Nixon's campaigne fund.
Tom is happy to do whatever he can to
elect Dick Nixon so perhaps the check can
be used to good advantage. We appreciate
your very kind gesture.
Every good wish,
amm Duggan

L. N. Dunihue
629 South Norton Avenue
Los Angeles 5, California
This morning in thinking about the election and
the campaign that Mr. Brown has been making with
the hope of being re-elected the following thought
dating back to my childhood came to me.
Little Jack Horner sat ** in a corner
eating bis Christmas pie
he stuck in his thumbs and pulled out a plumb
and said " What a great boy am I "
There is no doubt that Gov. Brown has that

Mr. Richard L. Nixon,
3906 Wilshire Boulevard,
Los Angeles, California.
Dear Mr. Nixon:
Yesterday , I received a lett r from my sister who has
moved back to Illinois since she retired from California state service.
In her letter, she inclosed the check which I am sending on to you.
She was a clinical labratory technologist at the Patton
State Hospital for many years but since she retired, she returned to
Illinois to live near her two children. et., she wishes to do wh t she
can to help you win next month and try to get this state back to being
one of the best in the nation instead of being under the control of
earl warren and the Boston saloon leepers.
My sister is: Mrs. Jeannette P. Moran, She now receives
her mail at Post Office Box 82, Wood River, Illinois.
Last night, I did not listen to your debate for I do not
permit such as nat brown and those kennedys toenter my home. However, I
did listen to CBS after you and finished. Don Moseley reported that those
two members of the sta'e Legislature whom you mentioned as being for
the communis ts, and they "denied they helped when those young hoodlums
from t he University of Califor ia attacked the un-American Activities
Committee, Don Moseley said that they had addressed those students in
the park in San Franci SCO the night before they attacked the Conmittee.
Pat brown lies when he tries to give the impression that
he had no part in that riot nor does he believe those two from his sort
of Legisaltors did either. He knows about their helping aro use those
young dicinles of Harry Bridges. He knws they and he do believe the
loyalty oath should be abolished and they believe in everything that is
advocated by Harry Bridges and his communist followers even Billings who
pat. give a pardon and restored to full citizenship.
He aslo pretends to be poposed to capitol Bunishment. Yet
with about one exception, he has never commuted the sentence of a white
person. ?Like the present SO called sovernor of Illinois, he finds a
way to commute sent ences of viscious negro gurderers. But, there is never
any sympathy with a white one. I am not saying the white ones have not
deserved what was given them except Carol Chessman.
He should never have been free again unless one could have
been absolutely certain he had become a reformed person but I do not
believe he did the crime for which he was illed. I believe pat had him
executed because he would not get down upon his knees to that rotten
politician becaus e he had no more respect for pat than many others of us.
When nat lied on and persecuted and prosecuted state employees in
the Department of Tenato Hyge ine to try to win votes, he was a crainal
of the worst sort. In every case he was proved a liar and the employees
were exhonorated.
However, even after the State Supreme Court and the other courts
had ordered him to restore t. 0 se two women to their positions with back
pay, he did not do it and as soon as he end Mosk took over in Sacra ento,
he had Most keep them from getting back to work.
Both women belo nged to the AFL which did nothing for them because
they intended to force pat upon us. One of the women also was a member
of the CSEA who helped her and she was acquitted. The other one was
enced to jail etc by a SO carled judge whom I ould have sent to San
Quentin for trying to help steal the estate of a close friend of mine.
Yet, that man is now a "judge" and could accept pat's lies and try to
destroy that woman. However, many of us who are members of the CSEA were
determined to teach the damned union that they cannot subjugate nor
frighten us, gave the necessary funds to have that state employee released
from jail and get a new trial. Then, we paid one of our CSEA attorneys
to assist her aftorney and she too was found to not be guilty. Yet, pat
who is exectly like the Boston saloon keepers in Washington, refused to
obey the law and restore eightr woman to her for ier work.
As long I was a state employee, I did everything possi ble to
obey our Constitution and I said nothing nor did nothing against little
pat
except to vote as a good citizen of this state and our country.
But, when I became too old to contnue working for the state, I have
done all I can to help rid this state of pat and others like him. My
sister has too, so I a happy that she still believes you should be elected
and that she helps all she feels she can.
I would h ve liked to h ve given you more than I sent to you but I
must give Some to our local REPUBLICAN candidates too. I am sending my
contribution driectly to them as 1 did to you for I will NOT help Thomas
Keuchel even with my vote. I did not vote for him in the primary nor shall
I do so next month. However, I believe that Richards will lose but which
ever of those winss, Californi loses. Keuchel like little pat does what
they tre advised by Mr. Warren and we have had more tha enough of earl
warren. So, I am trying to do what I can for the REPUBLICANS and not help
Keuchel.
Yours truly,

Re: Nixon Campaign
Dear Chad:
It was certainly a pleasure to see that you are
taking on the Southern California chairmanship of Dick's cam-
paign for the governorship. I know by experience that this
will be a real chore and, as a very strong Nixon supporter,
I want to express my great appreciation of your willingness
to undertake this.
Also, I want to assure you that if there is any way
in which I can be of assistance in this campaign, I will be
very glad to do anything that I can that you or Dick wish to
call on me for. I will be out of the city from February 1st
to March 17th, as my wife and I are taking a cruise to the
Mediterranean, but after I get back I should be able to make
some time available to help out,
Just to help get the ball rolling, I enclose here
with my check for $1,000.00 as a contribution to the campaign
which should be credited 1/2 to me and 1/2 to my brother,
Walker Smith.
With best personal regards.
Very sincerely yours,
Dana C. smith

Dear Bob:
The attached check from Bedia J. Erdle is a substitute for the
one forwarded to you under date of February 12th. Mrs. Erdle's
husband died suddenly and of course all bank accounts were closed.
The previous check was returned.
You will note this is for $300.00 or $100.00 more than the other
contribution. She asks that we not bother with another letter
of thanks.

death. I have attached the check which she gave me this
morning. You'll note that it is for $100.00 more than
the earlier one. She asks that we not bother with another
letter of thanks.
