Dear
Since, due to the large number of elective positions, it is
virtually impossible to evaluate each candidate for each office,
especially in the primary election, a group of active Republicans
who's names appear below have gotten together and made a study of
the various prospective candidates. We have heard these indivi-
duals speak, read their literature, sent out questionaire, and
checked their qualifications with other local political leaders.
The result of our study is the attached list of "recommended"
candidates. If you have had time to investigate the candidates you
may find that you disagree with us on a few choices. That's certainly
understandable. But, basically, I think you'll agree with our
choices 99 percent.
In the Congressional and Assembly areas the recommendations
have been made by people who live in these areas and are familiar
with the candidates and the local situation. For this reason,
and because the individuals working on this project were not un-
animously agreed on all of the offices, the endorsement is strictly
my own.
We are proud to be able to endorse and recommend the following
men. They are all outstanding leaders, fully qualified for the
offices they are seeking. They have all been civic leaders and
politically active. They have had the courage to speak out on the
issues which face Culifornia in this election. They are, in our'
opinion, the best qualified and most suitable candidates for office.
I hope you will agree, and I hope you will be sure to vote in the
primary election on June 5th.
