CONFIDENTIAL
MEMORANDUM FOR:
H.R. HALDEMAN
FROM:
CHARLES W. COLSON
SUBJECT:
Attached Memo to
President - re: Ed Brooke
Attached is a memo which you may want to give to the
President, or at least tell him that I have taken care
of what he discussed with me on the phone last evening.
Of additional interest, Ed Brooke told me that Reagan
has been asked to come to Massachusetts to do a fund-
raiser and will also do one in New Hampshire the next
day (June 14 and 15). His fee is a flat $25,000 for each
appearance! Brooke feels he is acting like a candidate.
They wanted the Vice President to do this and we could
have made real points in Massachusetts and New Hampshire
by having the V.P. do it free. Reagan has one-upped us
and is picking up some pretty hefty change in the process.
