Friday, February 12, 2010 Page 1 of 1 April 6, 1972 ADMINISTRATIVELY CONFIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM FOR: JOHN DEAN FROM: FRED FIELDING Today's Anderson column talks about a memo "from the confidential files of President Nixon's Campaign Finance Committee" listing major donors. The confidential list is reported to have been drawn from "known major donors" to "Republican Senatorial Campaigns in 1970." Presupposing that Anderson really has such a memo, two obvieus implications may be drawn. First, we have a leak at 1701 and/or the Republican National Finance Committee. It should be relatively easy to determine the origin of the memo, and those having access to it. I would think it imperative that this be determined immediately, since we may have to minimise a very serious situation. The other possibility is that this information was supplied by Jack Gleason. It relates to Republican Senatorial Campaigns in 1970 and Gleason was certainly intimately familiar with that race. ADMINISTRATIVELY CONFIDENTIAL
