Counsel to the President
The White House
Washington, D. C.
Dear John:
In making up an estate plan I am going to have to
know whether or not you are subject to any trust funds
from your own family or other sources and whether or
not you have "powers of appointment" in any living
trust or testamentary trust. You might check that
before we get together again and review your estate
matters.
Enclosed herewith for your use, if necessary, is
a xerox copy of Martha's application for the White
House Fellowship Program. We were both pleasantly
surprised to learn that Martha was sixth in her
Senior class at Georgetown Medical School.
We both regret missing your Christmas party on
December 22, 1972 and please express our regrets to
Maureen. We had fully intended to come until Martha's
parents, who were coming in from Texas by plane, were
delayed for several hours because of bad weather. We
ended up by being at National Airport most of the
evening of the 22nd waiting for them to arrive.
