MEMORANDUM

I am getting some columns written in Southern newspapers for the
purpose of trying to keep public sentiment from crystalizing
against HEW. Attached is an example of a good column by Frank
van der Linden. This same column appeared in Tampa, Shreveport,
and Nashville. Some others are in the process of being written
and printed. They will carry essentially the same information.
Senator Tower put the U. S. News interview in the Congressional
Record Monday, and reprints are now being prepared.
