The Honorable Harry Dent
Special Counsel to the President
The White House
Washington, D. C.
Dear Harry:
Please do me a personal favor.
I have a niece who worked in Strom Thurmond's office
this past summer. Not being a blood relative, I cannot take
credit for her good looks. She attended Converse College for
one year and is presently enrolled in the USC system. Probably
you have thousands of requests for a person without any real
technical education on the White House staff. She is not
that interested in the amount of money to be paid and of course,
could only work this summer. I suspect that her reason for
wanting to come back to Washington is because her boyfriend is
connected with some company in the district.
I don't even know whether you would possibly have
any use for a person such as Ellen. To me she would be an
excellent messenger with a most pleasing personality.
In the event anything like this is possible, I would
appreciate your letting me know so I can give you her name
and more about her.
We enjoyed seeing Postmaster General Blount and look
forward to seeing the Vice-President when he comes down and
of course, expect to see you at the same time.
Sincerely,
Bobbie Robert A. Clay
