MEMORANDUM FOR:
H.R. HALDEMAN
FROM:
L. HIGBY
SUBJECT:
Nixon/Muskie Horserace figure release
After talking with Colson, the suggestion he makes with
regard to releasing our latest data on the Nixon/Muskie
horserace is as follows:
Tag the poll as an RNC poll and have Dent leak the poll to
Evans-Novak for their use in an exclusive column. We
would tell Evans and Novak that there was no plan to release
the poll, but after they ran the column we could, of course,
follow up on our own.

Jack Gleason called me to suggest that we consider the
idea of having Chotiner and Dent call all the people
involved in our transactions during the last campaign
and suggest that they keep their mouths shut.
As you know, two or three stories have now run on
Gleason.
