Friday, July 02, 2010 Page 1 of 1 June 25, 1972 ACTION MEMO I need to meet with Graham when he's available regarding his role and his people's. Also, we should consider a meeting with Graham sometime fairly soon, at his convenience. ACTION MEMO The basic theme should be gotten out of our fear of an all out liberal media support for McGovern. Our concern is that this will be even more intensive than the liberal media support for Humphrey in 1968 as was pointed out in the Efron book. We, therefore, are forgetting about our position in the polls because we look at what the media did to Nixon and for Humphrey last time around, and recognize that it can, and undoubtedly will, be done again this time. This would be ideal material for a Buckley, Kevin Phillips, or Lasky column. HRH:pm 6/20/72
