Harry Dent Phone Call Re:
Counsel at RNC
Harry Dent called me informing me that both AP and UPI had
called him last night on a story they had that Dent would be named
Counsel at RNC. The story quoted sources at the Republican
National Committee and contained in It information known only
to Dole. Dent is convinced that Dole leaked this, His response
to both inquiries was that he had not discussed this matter at
all with Bush or the President and had not been asked by either
one of them to serve in that position. That was all he had to
say.

RNC Chairman
I'm not certain who is tracking on National Committee problems
these days but have picked up some distressing signals.
The RNC apparently should elect George Bush its new chairman
during meetings late next we ek (I hope somebody is counting
votes so the President is not embarrassed) but gather this is
not effective until Senator Dole resigns -- and I'm told he refuses
to resign. Apparently, at issue is who gets RNC honors during
Inauguration ceremonies and Bob feels he deserves them, not
the incoming Chairman.
This comes to me second-hand so it may not really coincide
with the facts, but I wanted to bring it to your attention.
Unless I hear from you to the contrary, I assume I have no
role in its resolution. Good luck!
