HALDEMAN FROM : LARRY HIGBY The attached are requests by Harry Dent and Jim Allison that rewritten copies of your memorandum concerning planning a candidates day be made available for use by the Republican National Committee, They realize that many of the elements in the original memorandum would not be applicable nor would you want disclosed on a general basis. However, if they could use it as a basic guideline in writing a memorandum that was available for general distribution, it would be much appre- ciated. Do you wish to provide a memorandum to be rewritten here and then made available to the Republican National Committee? Yes No Attachments LH:pm November 22, 1969 MEMO FOR H.R. HALDEMAN FROM : LARRY HIGBY I have an 8:00 a.m. dental appointment tomorrow morning. LH:pm November 7, 1969 MEMORANDUM FOR H.R. HALDEMAN FROM : LARRY HIGBY Attached is a note from Truett P. Mills to the President. Apparently the President had spoken to Reverand Allan R. Watson after he conducted the Church Service at the White House on September 28, 1969 and indicated to Watson he would love to have one of Mills' Putters. Mills is now writing to find out if there is any particular design the President would like to have for his putter. You may wish to bring this up with him. Attachment LH:pm November 7, 1969 MEMORANDUM FOR H.R. HALDEMAN FROM : LARRY HIGBY I just talked to Dent. He reports that all the talk at the Governor's Conference is along the line the President wished to re-emphasize, namely, how the President helped the candidates in Virginia and New Jersey. 1. He reports that Morton will be giving a speech today at lunch and Dent will get to him before then to re-emphasize this line. 2. Dent said that there has been tremendous praise for the President in all the talks given so far. 3. Senator Dominick did a particularly beautiful job the other day. He hit Congress hard on its record and promoted the great job the President had been doing. Dent feels there is a lot of material in Dominick's speech that should and could be used by other speakers. He will follow through on this. LH:pm November 6, 1969 MEMORANDUM FOR H.R. HALDEMAN FROM : LARRY HIGBY Frank Leonard has indicated he would like to run a page of the telegrams as we requested in the next issue of Monday. I believe the telegrams are now over at State and I am wondering if when you see the President you might want to mention this to him and ask him if we could have the telegrams he now has back. If this isn't appropriate, I'll send somebody over to Defense but the President has some good telegrams that we probably should use. LH:pm November 4, 1969 MEMORANDUM FOR H.R. HALDEMAN FROM : LARRY HIGBY RE : Political Report from Dent VIRGINIA Speech was a plus but Dent will be surprised if we win. Good weather is causing a good turn out - estimates are between 750,000 - 800, 000. NEW JERSEY Dent talked to Gross. He indicated speech had no adverse effect - Dent thought it might. Early reports from Republican areas indicate heavy Republican voting. No report from Democratic areas yet. Will follow up later today.
