Dear Ralph:
Thanks very much for the two tickets to "Country
Girl" last night. I was not able to go myself,
but one of the girls in the office attended and
thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks again.

MEMORANDUM FOR:
DWIGHT CHAPIN
FROM:
BRUCE KEHRLI
SUBJECT:
Julie's Schedule
This morning Clark MacGregor raised the point oflisison
with Congressional Relations people in scheduling Julie.
Evidentally on one of her stops there was a problem with
coordination with the local political people.
He didn't go into the specifics of the problem and obviously
Julie is not going to be able to see everybody everywhere
she goes, however, he did request that whoever was scheduling
Julie establish liaison with the Congressional Relations Office
in preparation for any of her ti ps.
Also, could you please have someone get back to Mr. M MacGregor
and let him know that something is being done about this.

Dear Dave:
Thanks for your letter -- its good to hear from you
again. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your work
with the advance team for the Washington State trip
and I'm sorry that you won't be able to help us out
again -- at least for awhile.
I can appreciate your wanting to get into something
on a full-time basis. You're certainly fortunate
to be able to stay in the San Francisco area.
Please keep in touch and let me know how things
are going. Say hello to Ritchey and Rounsville
if you see them.
Sterling wanted to say hello and Christopher (now
nine months old) sends along a toothless, dribbling
"hi"!
Sincerely,
Bruce Kehrli

Dear Bruce:
This is to advise you that financial circumstances have
forced me to return to the practice of law on a full-time
basis. I am currently working for the Alameda County
District Attorney's Office in Oakland and will probably
remain in this position through next Spring, atleast.
My opportunity to participate with the advance team during
the President's recent trip through Washington State was one
which I enjoyed tremendously, and I regret that, as things
stand now, I will not be able to take on any similar
assignments in the near future. As we approach convention
time next summer, however, if the need arises for temporary
personnel to assist with the preparations in San Diego, do
let me hear from you. By then, I would expect that the office
would grant me a brief leave of absence.
Everyone I spoke with on the trip in September, including
Mr. Haldeman, had fine praise of the job you are doing at
The White House, Bruce, and I hope that you will "hang in
there" after your military obligation has terminated
Please give my best to Sterling.
Fondly,
lane

Dear Phil:
Just a note to thank you for the tickets to
"Country Girl". Unfortunately, we were not able
to attend, but the tickets were put to excellent
use by a couple of the girls in our office.
As you know, these girls work very long hours
and are totally dedicated. I really appreciated
the opportunity to do something for them.
Incidentally, I have heard nothing but praise
about the play --- looks like another five week
sellout.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Bruce Kehrli

MEMORANDUM FOR: H. R. HALDEMAN
FROM:
BILL SAFIRE
The New York Time Sunday Magazine has asked me for a
short article satirizing the campaign oratory and slogans
of the Democratic candidates.
I could poke some fun at the tired cliches that will be
tossed at us, before they even get warmed up, in the
medium that will hurt them most.
Okay to do?
good Idea !

Dear Nell:
Thank you very much for the bib you brought
back from Europe for Christopher. That was
very thoughtful of you and Sterling and I
really appreciate it.
Christopher does too, in fact when he saw
it he gave it a very enthusiastic "huh"--
differentiated from an unenthusiastic "huh",
As you can see he has a fairly limited
vocabulary.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Bruce A. Kehrli
