I was not able to go myself, but one of the girls in the office attended and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks again. Sincerely, Bruce Kehrli Mr. Ralph Becker 1819 "H" Street, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20006 BK:1m Administratively Confidential 15 November 16, 1971 MEMORANDUM FOR: DWIGHT CHAPIN FROM: BRUCE KEHRLI SUBJECT: Julie's Schedule This morning Clark MacGregor raised the point oflisison with Congressional Relations people in scheduling Julie. Evidentally on one of her stops there was a problem with coordination with the local political people. He didn't go into the specifics of the problem and obviously Julie is not going to be able to see everybody everywhere she goes, however, he did request that whoever was scheduling Julie establish liaison with the Congressional Relations Office in preparation for any of her ti ps. Also, could you please have someone get back to Mr. M MacGregor and let him know that something is being done about this. BK:lm CC: Parker November 30, 1971 Dear Dave: Thanks for your letter -- its good to hear from you again. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your work with the advance team for the Washington State trip and I'm sorry that you won't be able to help us out again -- at least for awhile. I can appreciate your wanting to get into something on a full-time basis. You're certainly fortunate to be able to stay in the San Francisco area. Please keep in touch and let me know how things are going. Say hello to Ritchey and Rounsville if you see them. Sterling wanted to say hello and Christopher (now nine months old) sends along a toothless, dribbling "hi"! Sincerely, Bruce Kehrli Mr. David A. Mulford Office of the District Attorney Oakland Branch Office, Room 6010 600 Washington Street Oakland, California 94607 BK:1m COUNTY OF ALAMEDA OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY OAKLAND BRANCH OFFICE * ROOM 6010 CALIFORNIA MUNICIPAL COURT BUILDING 600 WASHINGTON ST. OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA 94607 834-5151 D. LOWELL JENSEN - DISTRICT ATTORNEY November 22, 1971 Mr. Bruce Kehrli c/o Mr. H. R. Haldeman The White House Washington, D.C. Dear Bruce: This is to advise you that financial circumstances have forced me to return to the practice of law on a full-time basis. I am currently working for the Alameda County District Attorney's Office in Oakland and will probably remain in this position through next Spring, atleast. My opportunity to participate with the advance team during the President's recent trip through Washington State was one which I enjoyed tremendously, and I regret that, as things stand now, I will not be able to take on any similar assignments in the near future. As we approach convention time next summer, however, if the need arises for temporary personnel to assist with the preparations in San Diego, do let me hear from you. By then, I would expect that the office would grant me a brief leave of absence. Everyone I spoke with on the trip in September, including Mr. Haldeman, had fine praise of the job you are doing at The White House, Bruce, and I hope that you will "hang in there" after your military obligation has terminated Please give my best to Sterling. Fondly, lane David A. Mulford DAM/dd cc: Mr. Ron Walker November 17, 1971 Dear Phil: Just a note to thank you for the tickets to "Country Girl". Unfortunately, we were not able to attend, but the tickets were put to excellent use by a couple of the girls in our office. As you know, these girls work very long hours and are totally dedicated. I really appreciated the opportunity to do something for them. Incidentally, I have heard nothing but praise about the play --- looks like another five week sellout. Thanks again. Sincerely, Bruce Kehrli Mr. Philip Mullin 726 Jackson Place, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20566 BK:1m Administratively Confidential November 17, 1971 MEMORANDUM FOR: MR. SAFIRE FROM: BRUCE KEHRLI Bob received the attached, and as you can see, forwarded it to Ron Ziegler for his recommendation. He agrees with Ziegler's note and requests that in the future these matters be handled directly with Ron. Thank you. CC: Ron Ziegler BK:1m THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON November 15, 1971. MEMORANDUM FOR: H. R. HALDEMAN FROM: BILL SAFIRE The New York Time Sunday Magazine has asked me for a short article satirizing the campaign oratory and slogans of the Democratic candidates. I could poke some fun at the tired cliches that will be tossed at us, before they even get warmed up, in the medium that will hurt them most. Okay to do? good Idea ! Rz November 20, 1971 Dear Mr. Waycott: Mr. Haldeman has asked me to thank you for your recent letter to him and to fill you in on Hank's whereabouts. Hank has started his Freshman year at UCLA and can be reached at the following address: Hedrick Hall - UCLA 250 De Neva Circle Los Angeles, California 90024 Mr. Haldeman sends his best regards. I am now attending school in New Jersey and A was wondering if Hank is also attending school in New England. It has been many years since I have seen him and it is always good to renew old friendships. 490 I realize you are a very busy man, but &was hoping you might be able to take time to inform me of Hanks where-aboute and, possibly, an address, at which, of could reach him I was in Washington last weekend but I didn't know how to contact you. of hope the White House is sufficient enough in getting this letter to you. Thank you so much for your time; l hope someday to see you in the near future! Love and Peace, 1261 6IAON Richard H Would you rather we just forward the attached to Hank or respond from here? BRNDTE Let Hank handle ( O.K. to send response from here. November 2, 1971 Dear Nell: Thank you very much for the bib you brought back from Europe for Christopher. That was very thoughtful of you and Sterling and I really appreciate it. Christopher does too, in fact when he saw it he gave it a very enthusiastic "huh"-- differentiated from an unenthusiastic "huh", As you can see he has a fairly limited vocabulary. Thanks again.
