He approved the project under Teeter's\ndirection if MacGregor concurred. MacGregor deferred,\nindicating he has no interest. Bob has withdrawn\nhis support of the project if Teeter is involved.\nFurther, Bob has notinterest in the post election survey.\nHowever, he would not object and if someone (you or\nMagruder) would approach Stans, he would neither\nencourage or discourage the project. The post election\nsurvey must survive or die on its merits. I am in\nfavor of it.\nIn addition to the materials submitted by Teeter, I have\ntalked with John Davies, my contact at Gallup, and\nCharles Roll, an independent consultant. They propose\n600 Democrats who supported the President and 1,000\nindependents, selected from the 3,500 respondents in\nthe key precincts that Gallup used in his last pre-\nelection survey. The cost (30-40,000) is the going\nrate for a 1,600 interview personal interview survey.\nThe time frame for the project is:\nNevember 13 -- approval of project\nNovember 20 --- Approval of questionnaire\nNovember 27 -- preparation of visuals and pretest\nDecember 1-15 -- field interviewing\nJanuary 1 -- final report.\nPlease advise me if you have any interest in pursuing this\nproject.
