Haldeman From: Harry S. Dent RE: Poll from North Carolina. 1pg Tuesday, February 28, 2012 Page 1 of 1 Poles- THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON n.c. July 2, 1971 MEMORANDUM FOR: THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FROM: HARRY S. DENT DSD Attached is a poll I get periodically from North Carolina. Toward the bottom of page 2, question 5, there is a political poll showing the President to be running well ahead in North Carolina with Wallace running much below his 1968 level. This is not in accord with the recent Bucci poll showing the President to have a close race with Muskie. However, I do not have the greatest confidence in Bucci. I am having Charlie Crutchfield check out this pollster. Another interesting point on revenue sharing is made in answer to question 2 on page 1. Congressman Ben Mizell definitely does not plan to run for state-wide office and could be talked into being the pre- convention chairman in North Carolina. He thinks Congressman Jim Broyhill will make a decision for the U. S. Senate by September. CC: H. R. Haldeman
