Reading the Arizona Republic of November 6, 1971 -- the day
after Muskie's visit. Five column picture and story on the front
page. Three more pictures and rest of story on the inside.
No mention of anything by Arizona state Republican chairman.
Arizona Republic is a friendly paper, and I am certain they would
have printed something had they received it. And Arizona is a
pro-RN state.
What happened in Arizona? Was a statement released? How
was it released? Muskie got totally unchallenged coverage. He got
off scot free !
