MEMORANDUM FOR BOB HALDEMAN
NEWSWEEK has a particularly bad article regarding
Presidential leadership today. If you are asked,
we have underway a letter-writing campaign from
as many directions as we can. I have asked Jim
Howard to get some of his connections going on
it; also Dan Sullivan who works for Charlie
McWhorter, and Frederick Dixon who has a little
network of hiw own.
Rose Mary Mazon in the World Bank is helpful,
the National Committee is getting its people going
on this, and I have called other people in Los
Angeles and Chicago.
I think there will be a good outflow of material
within the next 24 hours, but because of the
nature of relying on these people, I won't be able
to give you the exact numbers of letters.
