MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT
Rond
FROM ROSE MARY WOODS
You will recall Dona Mason (used to sing at
the old Colony Club in Washington). She called this morning -
she works in Leisure World and is anxious to do anything she
can to help with the people of Mexican background during the
election.
She asked that I give you her best - also she says
you are doing a wonderful job.
One point she thinks we are missing -- we keep
calling these people Mexican-Americans and she thinks we should
work our public relations people overtime and get this changed.
The ones who want to be Mexicans can go back to Mexico these
people want to be Americans -- and want to be called Americans.
m
This is going to be a tough, uphill battle for these votes and she
would like to help.
