MR. PRESIDENT
Bunny Lasker is going to appoint a Blue Ribbon Committee
right after the first of the year to help study the Constitution
of the New York Stock Exchange, and to report suggested changes
within three to four months.
He would like to have William McChesney Martin be the
Chairman. The five other members of the Committee would
be industry men appointed by him (Bunny) and already accepted
by Bill if he takes the job.
His decision depends on two things:
(1) Whether you are agreeable -- (he is afraid that you
might be a little angry at him because of his disagreement
on income policy).
(2) Whether his wife will give him permission to come out
of semi-retirement which he promised her he would
stick to.
