I spoke with Spl yesterday about the
attached gift (scarf) and record which came from Claude Levesque
of 44 Avenue de New York, Paris 16.
As you will note from the typed copy of this
letter from him - he seems to feel he has known them before.
However, he thought he had met me too and I do not remember
him at all. Me is a nice young man - about 40ish - but I would
guess has maybe had a breakdown or some illness. Would you
please prepare a brief, polite but not too warm note from
Mrs. Nixon because I BELIEVE THIS fellow is going to be coming
to Washington later and we don't want to get stuck with him.
(I did not tell her about his coming, etc. --- but I do think
we should not be too warn in thanking him).
I would appreciate your sending the gifts on
up to her as I said I would do.
