MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT
APPOINTMENT: Mr. John Danforth, Attorney General of Missouri
DATE: Wednesday, April 15; Thursday, April 16; or Friday, April 17
PURPOSE: To assist Mr. Danforth who will announce his candidacy
for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Senator Symington on April 20.
SPECIAL NOTE: Mr. Danforth has minor primary opposition
from a Mrs. Bass. In amouncing his candidacy, however,
Danforth will not indicate that you have endorsed him, only
that he has conferred with you and that this meeting was cas
of the reasons that led him to seek the Senate seat.
