MEMORANDUM
THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
October 26, 1971
CONFIDENTIAL
MEMORANDUM FOR:
H. R. HALDEMAN
FROM:
JON M. HUNTSMAN
SUBJECT:
McCloskey
The following report was noted in the October 25, 1971 News
Summary:
"Speaking where he's putting all his chips - New Hampshire--
McCloskey told students one reason he's running is because
the President has failed to work toward ending segregation.
The Congressman claims a Manchester poll gives him 28% to
63% for the President. 11
The above report was pleasing and it was requested that you
build him to 40%.
Thank you.
