THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
February 23, 1973
Dear Mrs. Eisenhower:
It was requested that you note and pass along to Bebe
Rebozo the following from the February 23 News
Summary:
-- Ohio woman wants Saxbe to apologize to
US canine population because of reference
to draft dodgers as "dogs. 11 She called it
"an insult to an animal which is faithful to
its master unto death, 11 adding "many have
served well in war, " and asked Saxbe to
find some other suitable epithet to call
"these sniveling creatures who ran away
when they were needed. 11
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Bruced. Kehrls
Bruce A. Kehrli

EYES ONLY
MEMORANDUM FOR:
DAVE PARKER
FROM:
BRUCE KEHRLI BOK
SUBJECT:
Cahill Appointment
The attached memorandum to the President has been reviewed.
Referring to the note about Cahill wanting an appointment
with the President, it was noted that the President will
see Cahill if Bush recommends it. Of course, the President
shouldn't get into a primary fight, however, unless there
is a bad scandal -- Cahill is a much better candidate than
Sandman. Charlie is a good friend but it was noted that he
may be too far right for New Jersey statewide.
Dave, this information has been passed to George Bush with
the request that he contact you regarding the schedule
proposal.
