CONFIDENTIAL
MEMORANDUM FOR:
H.R. HALDEMAN
Attached is a copy of a report on Gayle Essary, a political media
manager who handled two pro-Administration candidates in
losing Senatorial campaigns. On reviewing this it was noted
that Essary obviously is not that sharp.
Thank you.

MEMORANDUM FOR:
H. R HALDERMAN
FROM:
JOHN R. BROWN III
The wire reports for September 19th, noted that Herb Klein
arrived to rally Republican votes for the November elections
from American communities in five nations of Europe. Upon
reviewing this it was noted: "What, again?! Tet's give anyone
a trip to Europe for a vacation but not under this cover again."

MEMORANDUM FOR H. R. HALDEMAN
The February 11 News Summary reported that Congressman
Conyers said growing strength of a black-led political party
in Alabama is causing Wallace to delay announcing his
candidacy for Governor.
On reading this the President requested that you arrange to
have this new political party subsidized now.

MEMORANDUM FOR
Bob Haldeman
On the political side, I would like you to follow
up with Billy Graham in his work with Negro ministers
across the country. He feels this is our best chance to
make inroads into the Negro community. I am inclined
to agree with him. The professional Negro radicals simply
can't be for us any more than the white radicals can be
for us. Just as we are trying to appeal to our own
constituency among the whites, we should remember that
there is a similar constituency, although eminently
smaller, among Negroes. Let's not overlook them in
attempting to pander to the radicals - black or white.
