MEMORANDUM FOR:
H. R. HALDEMAN
FROM:
BRUCE KEHRLI BAK
L
SUBJECT:
Yorty Letter
Attached is a letter sent by Mayor Sam Yorty of
Los Angeles to the President congratulating him
on his newspaper endorsements and indicating that
"I'm sure you will not hesitate to call again if
you need any help from me this year. "
Colson recommends that Mayor Yorty be invited in
for a five to ten minute meeting with the President,
after we obtain his assurance that as a result of
that meeting he will announce his endorsement of
the President. Colson also indicates that he has
discussed this with you.
Colson will contact Yorty to get assurance of en-
dorsement before the meeting if the President agrees
to see the Mayor.
President will see him under
above conditions.
President will not see -- try
to get endorsement without meeting.
Note: Yorty will be invited to Revenue Sharing signing
ceremony. If he accepts, that would be a good time for
meeting
