Harry THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON H.D, Murry March 12, 1970 MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT SUBJECT: Meeting with Congressman Bob Wilson, Chairman Rogers Morton, Jim Allison, Jack Calkins, Ed Terrill, Dent and Chotiner March 13, 1970 3:45 PM I. PURPOSE To receive a briefing from the Congressional Campaign Committee on key 1970 House races. II. BACKGROUND A. The lineup of the House is presently 245 Democrats, 186 Republicans and 4 vacancies. One vacancy is the 6th District of Illinois (Ronan's seat), two are the 24th and 35th of California (Lipscomb and Utt), and the other is the 6th District of New Jersey (Cahill). Attachment "A" is a map prepared by the NAM showing the distribution of House seats by parties as of December 1969 with a listing of all House Members on the back. B. This is our first meeting with Bob Wilson and his top iwo assistants, Jack calkins and Ed Terrill. Lee Potter is now working on the Boosters program. C. Attachment "B" contains a rundown on the SUPEIVE CF EXECUTIVE CHAPIN, DWIGHT L. PRE March 19, 1970 TO: DWIGHT CHAPIN FROM: OLLIE ATKINS Dear Dwight: Enclosed please find a complete set of the pictures I made in the President's office the other morning for your personal files. Those who have visited him include: Senators Stevens, Hatfield, Curtis, Goldwater, Scott as well as Ken BeLieu, Secretary Stans and Bob Stevens. Senators Jackson and McClellan will visit.
